Japanese iris in Okayama Korakuen Garden (Okayama city)
Okayama Korakuen Garden is one of the three most beautiful gardens in Japan. Flowers that bloom at different times in the season are planted. About 3,000 bulbs of 80 varieties of irises bloom in the rainy season.
Nagashi somen noodles (Asakuchi city)
Tenobe(hand stretching) process has been handed down to this day since Edo period. It has scent of wheat and chewy texture defferent from hand cutted noodles. You can enjoy Nagashi somen (flowing noodles) in Kamogata, Asakuchi city, a famous production area of noodles in summer.
Drum Rice Planting Festival in Okayama Korakuen Garden
An annual event, rice planting festival is held in Okayama Korakuen Garden. Young ladies called “Saotomes” wearing vividly kimono demonstrate “Drum rice planting” accompanied with drums and songs performed by men called “Sage”

Hydrangea Festival at Daishoji temple(Mimasaka city)
It is a famous place for hydrangea in Okayama prefecture, so it is called “hydrangea temple”. About 5,000 hydrangeas bloom in the middle of June. It will be the best time to see hydrangea from now on. Hydrangea Festival is held from June 14 to July 12 and many people come to see the beautiful hydrangea.
